No longer content with leaping from stoplight to stoplight with V twin hammer blows of torque, cruiser bike riders have demanded and received a new style of motorcycle with a wider range of performance.

One example of that is the motor, which sticks to the cruiser formula with a 48 degree V twin of 1,854 cubic centimetres in capacity. Yamaha has also raised the power cruiser standards a tick by engineering even more smoothness into the big Vtwin than others in this market and using dual counter balancers to do so. Power from the four valves per cylinder motor is routed through a hydraulic clutch and five speed gearbox, and from there to a belt rather than chain or shaft to drive the rear wheel.
As a factory custom cruiser, the seat of the Raider is typically low (695 millimetres). From there, the gas tank housing slants upward toward the handlebar clamps, and to the flat, wide bars themselves. It may look like a long stretch for the arms when observing the bike at rest, but, with a nicely supportive saddle,[url=http://www.sacvanessabruno.fr/]cabas vanessa bruno[/url], it is actually quite a comfortable place to be once onboard.
That assumes, of course, that the pilot is accustomed to the forward and up positioning of the feet in order to reach the rear brake and gear shifter controls. It takes some getting used to on the first few launches from a stop, but the ergos rapidly become familiar and comfortable. Such lounge chair accommodations can even work well for relatively long rides, although shorter riders may have some issues with the stretch to the footpegs.
The Raider also exhibits great balance for such a long (1,799 mm)and bulky (314 kilograms) motorcycle. This even encourages the rider to explore the bike cornering limits. It is 210 mm in width, versus 240 or 250 mm for some of its competitors. Clearly, looks aren everything.
The Raider is quite simple and uncluttered in its styling, implying a blank canvas awaiting the touch of a customizer. There is no tachometer, water temperature or fuel gauge, and the space above the handlebars that would usually house such instrumentation is empty.
