Children services declines to open case on home Dayton police
Montgomery County Children Services is not opening a case against a woman whose two children were found in a home Dayton police officers described as unkempt. Tuesday based on an anonymous caller who reported to police that there were children,[url=http://www.asicso@#$%&/]asics[/url], ages 5 and 6, in the home with no food,[url=http://www.@#$%&-airmax2u@#$%&/]air max[/url], according to a police incident report. The officers found the boy and girl in an upstairs bedroom where there were mattresses on the floor and no bedding.
The officers who filed the report also said there were random items strewn all over the floor and "dirty dishes on every surface of the kitchen,[url=http://www.michael-kors-outlet-online.us@#$%&/]michael kors shoes[/url]."
The officers said they found a bag of sauerkraut, a 2 liter of soda,[url=http://www.new-balance574@#$%&/]balance shoes[/url], a few small frozen pizzas,[url=http://www.katespadeoutleta@#$%&/]kate spade handbags[/url], two cans of corn and a box of macaroni.
One of the officers,[url=http://www.soccer--shoes@#$%&/]soccer shoes[/url], Matthew Kennard, typed in the report that he called children services and was told by a representative that the agency wasn't "going to send out a caseworker because they did not want to have to open a new case on the family."
Kennard also said the representative told him the mother, 32 year old Anna Bryan, has an open case in Ross County. Officials with the children services agency in that county could not be reached Wednesday for comment.
Kevin Lavoie, Montgomery County Children Services spokesman, said,[url=http://www.instylerionicstyler.us@#$%&/]instyler ionic styler[/url], "we can only act on the information we were given in the intake call."
In an attempt to put the South Irwin Street report in some kind of context, he said children services had 13,500 intake calls in 2013. Only 3,500 of those became cases,[url=http://www.louboutin--pascher.fr/]louboutin @#$%&[/url], he said.
Lavoie said the agency cannot divulge who placed the call, but noted "if a child is in danger,[url=http://www.longchamphandbags.us@#$%&/]longchamp[/url], children services will take immediate action and a have caseworker on site within an hour."
Lavoie said he doesn't know who the officer spoke with,[url=http://www.oakleyit.eu/]oakley[/url], but "if (we) get a reliable intake report then we will always step in and protect the children.".
