Draconia singers

Sadly, all the old threads have been lost, incluiding the one with this very same name. This means we'll have to help this new topic grow and make it even greater than the previous "Draconia singers".

Being the first one then, I'll take the easiest shots hahaha

Göran Edman has already been confirmed, and I'm glad, he's truly unique.

Joe Lynn Turner - He's just too good to be spared. Besides, I just can't imagine a Nikolo Kotzev project without him.

Thomas Vikström - In my opinion, he's a much better singer nowadays than he used to be when he recorded for BA (and he was already great...). I guess they call that "experience"

I'll come with some more soon

Cheers

I'll go with my suggestions:

Kelly Sundown Carpenter - He has an amazing voice. He totally deserves being in a project like this one.

Mats Levén - Another great singer.

Agree with Thomas Vikstrom.

Tony Martin - Very unique and powerfull voice.

Damian Wilson - Very personal voice, very classy.

Irene Jansen - Her sister Floor might be more famous (shes great of course) but I always liked Irene even more.

Daniel Gildenlow - Having listening the last Pain of Salvation album, at this point he sounds to me like a younger Glenn Hughes.

Hi, Nikolo! :)
I've already introduced myself shortly in Brazen Abbot's forum,
so I'll go straightly to the Draconia's singers topic here.

All day today, and I mean really ALL day I was reading and learning
all the information available in the Draconia's official site, I read
the story, listened to the samples, wrote down the main characters and
than was thinking and seeking of artists who may fit for each role.
This was a great pleasure for me, I must confess, and made my day! :)

But, this is where my investigation lead me to...
Now I will write the characters and against each of them I'll
write my proposals for singers. Some of the singers are mentioned
more than once, when I think they are propriate for more than one role.

WISEMAN - Glenn Huges, Joe Lynn Turner, Thomas Vikstrom

MOHRDAI - David Coverdale (my doubt here is that I am note quite sure
he is that good singer now he used to be before),
Blackie Lawless (W.A.S.P.)
Jorn Lande
Ville Valo (HIM)

HOPE - Tarja Turinen, Anouk, Sarah Brightman

FREEDOM - Joe Lynn Turner, Thomas Vikstrom, James LaBrie (Dream Theater),
Joey Tempest (Europe), Tony Harnell, Chad Kroeger (Nickelback)

GAMOHRA - Siobnah Fahey (Shakespeare's Sister - unfortunatelly I'm not sure
if she is an active singer now), Marcella Detroit (Shakespeare's sister),
Anouk, Tori Amos

REPTILAH - Siobnah Fahey (Shakespeare's sister), Lita Ford, Tori Amos

THE CROW - Ozzy Ossbourne, Eric Adams (Manowar), Vile Vallo,
Jorn Lande, Erik Martensson

This is it, for now. If you need, I can give more detailed information
about why I have chosen these singers for these roles.
Also, I can give links with performances of these artists, if necessary,
but I suppose you know them well. :)

If I come across with some other ideas, I'll share them here.

Bye for now and Stay well!

Hi again,

I have several more suggestions for some of the roles:

HOPE: Dessy Dobreva. Yes, I'm sure you know who I'm talking about.
She is from Bulgaria, extremely talented singer and musician
and she is able do do her work really professional.

THE CROW: Axl Rose (Guns'n'Roses)

MOHRDAI: Alice Cooper; James Hetfield - for him I'm not sure
if he'd like to participate in a project out of Metallica,
but you can try...

This is it from me for this time.

Regards

I could only imagine Bob Cathley playing the WISEMAN role.

As for the rest cast - why don't you try to make an audition? It should be millions of gifted people there who want to participate.

As promised, I come back with some more suggestions:

- Joseph Williams from TOTO. Not so long ago I saw a couple of songs from a DVD and this guy absolutely blew my mind. VERY good singer.
- John Farnham (I insist hahaha). I listen to him, then listen to your songs and it sounds to me that you two are a perfect match. I promise I won't insist with him anymore hehe.
- Jeff Scott Soto. We all know him, and a voice like his is always handy.

I'll try to think some more, but it's hard to find singers that are as good as the ones already worked with you.

Cheers!

PS: RIP Steve Lee from Gotthard :(

Hi everyone, i just signed here, havent heard all nostradamus beacause my copy hasnt shipped yet,but from the samples i heard you're amazing nikolo.

I'm going to read the concept of draconia, the story of each characters and give my opinions.

Peace.

edit: Ok, the story is humongously big,let me make some coffee.

Edit:what an amazing story, really brilliant, just finished, i finished with a huge smile on my face, well done nikolo, now, the singers.

The crow: Definetly Jorn or Kelly Sundown (the old jorn would be great, but nowadays i dont know if he still has it,probably has, just doesnt use anymore)

Freedom: I don't know what you had in mind, but i think Björn Jansson would be great. (he really can express agony and ,well happiness i don't know, but listen to him in beyond twilight's for the love of art and the making.

Ok,now that i thought better, another great singer that would be perfect for Freedom part is Andy Kuntz from Vanden Plas

Hope: It would be perfect if Simone Simons sang clean, not lyrically .

Móhrdai: Well if kelly sang The Crow i think jorn should be Móhrdai.

Wiseman: Still thinking.

Gamóhra and Reptilah i dont know,i don't know many female singers.

Hey, I loved Nostradamus and I'm looking forward to Draconia.
My wish is that you'll use even more characteristic singers on this one, don't get me wrong, the singers did an exccelent job on Nostradamus but I think it'll ad more depth to the story using more different voices.

My suggestions:

MÓHRDAI - Alice Cooper

REPTILAH - Diamanda Galas

HOPE - Josefin Berger Swedish singer, listen at:
http://www.myspace@#$%&/millieochbillie/music
http://www.myspace@#$%&/josefinberger/music

FREEDOM - Joey Tempest

WISEMAN - My first choise is Ronnie James Dio but he's dead (R.I.P.) so I'm not absolutely sure about this one. Someone older who sounds older... Leonard Cohen?

CROW - Jorn Lande

GAMOHRA - Alyosha

Keep up the good work!

/Per

Hi, I`m from germany and a big fan of Brazen Abbot and the brilliant Nostradamus.
Still very excited about Draconia.
It`s hard to wait for it but I understand that a masterpiece takes some time.

As always Göran is a good choice.
I hope Joe Lyn Turner will join the project, too.
Can`t imagine a Nikolo Kotzev Album without him (Except Live And Learn ;).

I absolutely wish for Tony Harnell to participate because he is the best Opera Voice I could ever imagine
and he already sang for another Rock Opera.

I agree that Bob Catley might possibly fit.
He is not the best singer of the world but he might be the
perfect mystical-medieval-fantasy-voice.
Not sure about this but I like the idea of it.

And I could possibly imagine Johnny Gioeli from "Axel Rudi Pell" and the other Brazen Abbot singers but that`s it.
My other favs are already dead.
