Currently the Ministry is awaiting the approval from Cabinet.According to Rahaman the project once approved will see the construction of a 2.5-kilometer stretch of road starting from the Timehri Police Station to the entrance of the airport.Rahaman explained that the road will see two additional lanes north to the existing road each separated by medians. There will also be a paved sidewalk with concrete drains.This project, Rahaman said, will run for 12 months. The authorities are looking for an alternative location for the Timehri market as well as a new location for those vendors along the current road leading to the airport.It has also been highlighted that the road work is a part of the bigger picture for the four-lane highway from Georgetown to Timehri.Works are being done from Providence to Diamond; bridges are being widened.
