Accused referred to body in barrel when making threat
Corey Tymchyshyn uttered a chilling threat during a confrontation related to a marijuana grow operation, a Crown witness testified Tuesday.
"He said that he shot his friend and put him in a barrel, so he said I'd end up in the same way," Allan Hallson, 55, told a jury currently hearing a murder trial in the death of Chad Davis.
Tymchyshyn, 37, and Kristopher Brincheski,[url=http://www.@#$%&-scarpe.it/]@#$%& scarpe[/url], 31, are accused of first degree murder for the death of Davis,[url=http://www.louisvuittonpursesbag.net/]louis @#$%& outlet stores[/url], 22. The men,[url=http://www.nikeblazer-pascher.fr/]blazer @#$%&[/url], who were business partners at the relevant time,[url=http://www.timberland-pas-cher.fr/]timberland homme[/url], are presumed innocent and have pleaded not guilty.
Prosecutors and police allege Davis,[url=http://www.mcmhandbags-backpack@#$%&/]mcm backpack[/url], a city drug dealer, was brutally killed in Tymchyshyn's mother's garage in Winnipeg, his body placed in a barrel and dumped in a lake near Lac du Bonnet on Feb. 6,[url=http://www.hollisteruk.co.uk/]hollister clothing[/url], 2008.
He had been struck several times in the head with an object, an autopsy showed.
Hallson told court he met Tymchyshyn in spring 2012 after he placed an online ad looking to sell a mitre saw.
Tymchyshyn expressed interest,[url=http://www.@#$%&-airmax2u@#$%&/]air max shoes[/url], and they ultimately arranged for Hallson to come to work for him that summer in a construction business, Hallson said. Tymchyshyn was on bail at the time, jurors have heard.
Hallson said he'd spent time with Tymchyshyn over the summer driving to and from job sites,[url=http://www.@#$%&-all-star.it/]@#$%& all star[/url].
On one occasion, Tymchyshyn "mentioned about things that happened in the past. what he had done to a person," Hallson testified.
"He had shot a person over a drug op,[url=http://www.abercrombie-hollister.it/]abercrombie and fitch[/url], a grow op," Hallson said of what Tymchyshyn disclosed. "He had put him in a barrel and put him in a river by a cottage," Hallson said.
The reason: "Because the person was crossing him. the person was stealing from him,[url=http://www.@#$%&-rosherun.fr/]rush run[/url]," Hallson said.
No names were used. "All's he mentioned was that it was his friend," said Hallson.
Upon Tymchyshyn's repeated requests, Hallson said he helped construct a 100 plant grow operation in the basement of his Manitoba Avenue home,[url=http://www.canada--goose.co.uk/]@#$%& uk[/url], complete with false walls and special growing lights.
A party Hallson threw at the house in October led to a major blowout with Tymchyshyn,[url=http://www.northface-jackets.us@#$%&/]north face tents[/url], where Hallson says he was told to surrender his house keys and phone and leave the premises.
It was in this exchange the threat to shoot him and put him in the barrel was directed at him,[url=http://www.nikeairmaxinc@#$%&/]cheap air max[/url], Hallson said.
Hallson admitted being a drinker around this time, but rebuffed suggestions he was a "chronic alcoholic."
He was peppered with questions about statements he made to police after his arrest for the grow operation in November 2012. He continues to face outstanding charges, but was offered no deals for his testimony,[url=http://www.hermes-sac.fr/]sac hermes[/url], he said.
He conceded to defence lawyer Roberta Campbell that Tymchyshyn told him "not very much" about his personal life.
She wondered why then that Tymchyshyn would ever disclose to Hallson he had been involved in a homicide.
Hallson couldn't recall telling police he was "crazy" and that his testimony wouldn't stand up in court. Campbell also pointed out how he had requested a deal from police before speaking to them,[url=http://www.occhiali--oakley.it/]oakley frogskins[/url], but they refused.
