Hi Angelo

I am not really good at drums, but I'll try.

Ian plays Yamaha drums.

The bass drum is huge - 22" . It has a 12 cm hole in the middle of the resonant head, where a Shure B52 was placed.

The snare is metallic, he likes it tuned low but I always ask him to pitch it up a bit. He had a wooden snare for the previous albums.

There are three toms, all tuned quite low. Don't know their sizes.
The toms were miked with Shure condenser mikes attached to the rim of each tom.

Ian has one crash at his right, two crashes at the left, under them is the ride. Yes, he is a left handed drummer.

He plays REALLY loud, so chosing the right mikes for recording his kit is very important.

Uuh, I did my best ;-)
