Under the Demerara Harbour Bridge, bids were opened yesterday at the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB) for the fabrication of 40 buoys and 40 pairs of connecting end posts.A section of the Demerara Harbour Bridge collapsed Monday after two temporary pontoons located at the western end of the bridge sank, leaving thousands of commuters and vehicles stranded on both sides of the river.
