Animals Australia claims a "vicious campaign" by the National Farmers Federation led to its decision to withdraw its shopping bag campaign with Coles,[url=http://www.masterclass-detailing.co.uk/category/cheap-polo-shirts/]Cheap Polo Shirts[/url].
A furore erupted over Coles' plans to start selling the bags,[url=http://www.article-web.co.uk/category/discount-hermes-bags/]Discount Hermes Bags[/url], which had a flying pig logo used by Animals Australia in its push to end factory farming of pigs and hens.
"We are simply changing direction and changing tack and that's why we are putting together a national television advertising campaign to air this week that will show consumers what the National Farmers Federation has fought so hard to hide and that is what happens to animals in these production systems,[url=http://www.article-web.co.uk/category/hermes-handbags/]Hermes Handbags[/url]."
Coles general manager of corporate affairs Robert Hadler denies the company pressured Animals Australia to withdraw the campaign,[url=http://www.masterclass-detailing.co.uk/category/ralph-lauren-polo-outlet/]Ralph Lauren Polo Outlet[/url].
"This is nothing to do with Coles putting pressure on anyone,[url=http://www.article-web.co.uk/category/hermes-birkin-bag/]Hermes Birkin Bag[/url]," he said.
"Animals Australia called Coles and suggested the approach,[url=http://www.article-web.co.uk/category/hermes-online-sale/]Hermes Online sale[/url].
"We believe this was the right thing to do,[url=http://www.article-web.co.uk/category/hermes-wallet/]Hermes Wallet[/url], because clearly the debate on live cattle exports had overshadowed the good work that Coles,[url=http://www.masterclass-detailing.co.uk/category/polo-outlet/]Polo Outlet[/url], with its farmer suppliers, were doing on sow stall free pork and to take out eggs from the caged chicken supply chain."
The National Farmers' Federation's (NFF) CEO Matt Linnegar has described as "sensible" Animals Australia's decision to end the bag campaign.
NSW farmer Andrew Freshwater, who was at the forefront of the campaign to get Coles to change its mind, says Animals Australia is being a bit "precious" in accusing the NFF of being vicious.
He also believes there's now the chance for farmers and Coles to sit down and foster closer relationships.
